BASF's ammonium chloride used as an additive reduces urinary pH, increases the solubility of phosphates in the urine and consequently reduces the risk for urolithiasis. Adding NH4Cl from BASF will thus reduce urinary pH and therefore will have a positive effect on the prevention of urinary calculi and improve the welfare and performance of these animals significantly.
