New Products and New Applications
Always with sustainability in mind, BASF wants to contribute to a world that provides a viable future with enhanced quality of life for everyone.
They do so by creating chemistry for our customers and by making the best use of available resources. Enhanced sulfites and hydrosulfite grades, research on biomass-balanced products, development of zero-carbon solutions, or new functionalities for both technical and food/feed applications are just a few examples of BASF's technological advances in the field of inorganic chemicals.
A Multifaceted Approach to Innovation
Innovation is an essential part of our DNA.
BASF has more than $2 billion spent annually on research and approximately 10,000 employees working in research and development. This is also true for well-established products such as inorganic salts and alcoholates, for which multiple initiatives are underway to reduce the carbon footprint of our products and invent solutions that will help foster value creation for our customers. As part of a rich innovation pipeline, BASF Inorganic Chemicals is continuously upgrading plants and even introducing new processes to improve product availability while achieving ambitious sustainability objectives. We are also helping our customer find innovative ways to use inorganic salts and alcoholates, both with new or existing products, creating opportunities for growth and differentiation. With the support of digitalization experts, new platforms and tools are also being develop to facilitate commercial and supply chain processes.
